Bunplan is a native Mac app, with a timer in the menu bar, quick capture from any app, Go to Anything, and a shortcut for everything.

The Mac is the only place where AI assistants can work with your plan.
The window
| Part | What's there |
|---|---|
| Sidebar | Today, Records, your active Projects, and Archived. Each row shows how many tasks are open |
| Content | The screen you picked in the sidebar |
| Inspector | The selected task's steps and details. Press ⌥⌘I to show or hide it |
| Toolbar | The Focus button, New Task (+) and Search |
- To open a screen in its own window, double-click it in the sidebar, or Control-click it and choose Open in New Window. ⌥⌘N opens a new window.
- To move a task, drag it onto a project in the sidebar, or onto a day at the top of Today.
- To archive or delete a project, Control-click it in the sidebar and choose Archive project or Delete Project….
- Show Done and Show Steps are in the View menu.
Start a session
The Focus button in the toolbar starts a timer with no task and opens the Focus window. Its menu sets your usual timer: count up, or count down from 15, 25, 45 or 60 minutes. To time a task, select it and press ⌘↩︎.
While a session runs, the toolbar shows the task, the time, Pause or Resume, and End. Click the task's name to open the Focus window.
The Focus window
Focus opens in its own small window, so it can sit beside your work.
- It shows the bunny or a simple timer, the time, today's total, this task's total, and the step you're on.
- Pause, Complete task and End session are at the bottom.
- To keep it in front of other windows, choose Window → Float on Top.
When nothing is running, the window says "Nothing running", with Start timer.
The menu bar timer
While a session runs, the bunny mark and the time sit in the menu bar. Click them to pause, resume or end, or to switch to another task. When nothing is running, the menu offers to continue your last task or start a new session.
To hide it, turn off Show the timer in the menu bar in Bunplan → Settings → General.
Quick capture
Press ⌃⌥N in any app to add a task without leaving what you're doing.
- Type the task's name.
- Press ↩︎ to add steps, one per line, if you like.
- Choose a project and a date.
- Press ⌘↩︎ to save, or esc to cancel.
To change the shortcut, open Bunplan → Settings → General → Quick capture shortcut and press a new one. If another app already uses it, Bunplan asks you to choose another.
